The Baby Room
The Baby Room members of staff:
The Baby Room provides care for children ranging from 3 – 21 months. There is a maximum of nine children per session within the room, at a staff ratio of 1:3.
Within the room there is a self-contained kitchen area for storing and preparing feeds and sterilising bottles. We are able to accommodate all stages of feeding for your baby from milk feeds, to weaning and on to solid foods. As well as the daily meals provided by our caterers Zebedees, we are able to provide Ella’s Kitchen pouches and jars for younger children, on request.
There is a purpose built nappy changing area and six cots at one end of the room. The cot area can be kept dark as and when required and by having them in the room it ensures that staff can continuously monitor all the children whilst they are sleeping.
To support the different needs for the children within the room there is a range of resources suitable to all ages. We have ample storage so can rotate the different toys each day depending on the age of children in each session. Within the room there is a large indoor slide with steps, which helps support the children’s physical development, as well as a quiet cosy corner with lots of cushions and books available every day. The children also have access to an indoor sand/sensory tray and a wide variety of other toys for all stages of development.
Whilst the Baby Room does have a routine, we are able to adapt this to suit each individual child. We follow each child’s own routine so they feel as safe and comfortable as possible. We work very closely with parents and carers to ensure this happens.
