"Children benefit from healthy, nutritious snacks. Meal times are very sociable occasions where children and staff sit together and chat happily. Children cut up their own fruit and vegetables and learn good hygiene routines with regard to personal care." - Ofsted, January 2013, (Click here to read the full report).
We aim to promote healthy living and will incorporate this into activity planning as well as snack and meal times. We often prepare and cook our snacks with the children, enjoying a range of homemade bread, cakes and biscuits along with a variety of fruit and vegetables. Activities are planned regularly to assist in introducing children to new and varied flavours and textures and to support and develop an awareness of their own bodies, healthy eating and food from other countries and cultures.
Fresh drinking water is available at all times and children are encouraged to help themselves.
